Dr. Higgins is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. She received a B.S. degree in mathematics from Xavier University of Louisiana in 2002, and the degrees of M.S. (2004) and PhD. (2008) from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her dissertation work was in the area of oscillation criteria for dynamic equations on time scales. Dr. Higgins current research is in time scales and applications of time scales to mathematical biology. Additionally, she has a keen interest in increasing the number women, especially those underrepresented, in STEM and improving the undergraduate preparation of mathematics majors.
