Bio

Dr. Nitsan Ben-Gal, Data Science Specialist at 3M Company, serves as the Math Alliance Director for Industrial Relations. In this role, Dr. Ben-Gal advises the executive council on how the Math Alliance can best serve the private sector's growing need for a diverse workforce with strong mathematical, statistical, and quantitative training. She further serves as a liaison to the private sector and helps to establish connections with companies, associations, and academia with which we can build lasting partnerships. Dr. Ben-Gal serves as a mentor through the Association for Women in Mathematics Mentor Network, and within 3M serves on the Corporate Equity Team and Technical Women's Leadership Forum. She is also a founding organizer of the 3M RISE (Raising Influence in Science and Engineering) Symposium which introduces emerging graduate talent from underrepresented communities in STEM to R&D opportunities in Industry.

Dr. Ben-Gal holds a BS in Mathematics from the University of Michigan and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Brown University, where she led the Rose Whelan Society for Women in Mathematics.
