Bio

Dr. Ruiz received his Ph.D. from the University of Oregon in 2005 and was a postdoc at the University of Toronto from 2005-2007. He is currently a faculty member at the University of Hawaii at Hilo.

Dr. Ruiz's research areas are in Operator algebras and Algebra. He is currently a coordinator for Pacific Undergraduate Research Experience in Mathematics (PURE Math) a summer REU in Mathematics at the University of Hawaii at Hilo and he serves as the faculty advisor for the University Math Club.
