Sean Cleary received his PhD from UCLA after undergraduate work at Cornell University. He is a Professor in the Mathematics Departments at the City College of New York and the City University of New York Graduate Center. His primary research interests are in group theory, particularly geometric aspects of group theory, and in the geometry of spaces of trees. He has worked with undergraduate researchers on a range of problems in computational mathematics and computational biology, which have led to publications in a range of journals and conference presentations.
