Robin Wilson was born in Oakland, California and grew up in Sacramento, California. In 1999 he earned his BA in Mathematics from UC Berkeley. He earned a Masters in mathematics from Howard University in 2001 and completed his Ph.D. in Mathematics at the University of California at Davis in 2006. He held a University of California President's Postdoctoral Fellowship at UC Santa Barbara in 2006-2007 and since 2007 he has been on the faculty at the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. His current research interests are in the areas of low-dimensional topology and mathematics education. He is a member of The American Mathematical Society, the Mathematical Association of America, the National Association of Mathematicians, the Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society, and the National Council of Teachers in Mathematics.
